Stonecarver’s Dilemma (with Bergur Thomas Anderson) is a live choose-you-own-adventure, in which the audience becomes an artist, a stonecarver, who enters the medieval town of Rottbridge to work on a commissioned sculpture outside the town’s abbey. They soon find out that something strange has infected the town’s grain, leading habitants into unexplainable dancing trances. The performance is an invitation to unravel the town’s secrets and what an artist can do to save it from total destruction. Live music, improvised foley, dangerous snacks and specially brewed drinks might just help with these difficult choices.
Stonecarver’s Dilemma (A Shortcut) (2019) now available from Antenne Rotterdam (C30 cassette, edition of 30), highlights of the Mengi and puntWG performances, mixed by Bergur Thomas Anderson. All music was written by Bergur, lyrics by Ash and Bergur, and voices by Ash, Bergur, Gunnar and Sigrun. With big thanks to Frederic van de Velde.
